Pablo Picasso

Picasso was a Spanish artist mostly known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for his cubist paintings. The piece of work of his I’ve taken influence from is his Piece “Bottle of Vieux Marc, Glass, Guitar and Newspaper” Although compared to mine picasso uses text in many of his collages which he often used to reference things from global events such as war to smaller pettier events, he a lot of the time and as shown in the mentioned piece of his uses paper to create the shape of the objects to make his over all composition.

In my work I’ve used my photos based of Sisleys painting of storrs rock to recreate the landscape which may give more of an effect of a photojoiner compared to how Picasso’s work has a variety of different papers, colours and textures although I have used the pieces of paper I cut out to shape certain parts of the landscape by making the rock and shoreline and also using darker parts of photographs to recreate shadow
