Museum Trip drawings

I revisited the National Museum Cardiff and did some drawings from Alfred Sisleys painting of Storrs rock, and then also managed to find a postcard of that painting and the one of his Penarth cliffs painting that is shown next to it

I then did more drawings at home from the postcards which was better to draw compared to my own photos of the piece as in my own photographs you could see light from the back ground reflecting on the glass covering the painting.

I did the one of these in quite a minimalist style as some of the responses from other students to the painting of storr’s rock were quite minimalist drawings which just showed the shape of the rocks and sea ect. and i found the idea of just showing the shape quite interesting as my first thought would be to look at the colours and details rather than stripping back to just the shape
